What's your opinion on the educational system of India?
It is outdated. Our education system needs reforms. We can generate good employees but we cannot generate those who generate jobs. The education provided in IIM’s and IIT's are far excellent and we need that same system for schools. Creativity dies in school. Very few schools favour creativity. Teachers are also orthodox , they encourage students only for getting high marks not for to being creative.

Indian education system, especially professional education, is probably among the worst and most flawed in the world. The over-emphasis on theory is simply ridiculous. Premier institutes like IITs and IIMs may be exceptions, but not by a large stretch.
To score good grades in India, an excellent memory is much more useful than good skills or talent. Someone with really good memory but mediocre skills, can easily get very good grades by memorizing the textbook and reproducing it in his exams. On the other hand, someone having good skills but poor memory almost always ends up with average or poor grades.

What is your opinion on education system in India?
The present education system in my view is not quite up to the mark. It needs amendments and flaws in it need to be dealt with.
From childhood we are taught to learn(or rather memorize) what's in the books.We become like frog in the well.We make the book our God and dedicate our mind, eyes and health to the worship of facts it provides.Our mind doesn't get the training to look beyond the shore.

What are the best things about Indian education system?
From my experience,
Indian education is very cheap. You can complete your education for some paltry amount in a Government-run or Government-aided school. Again in higher education, most government institutions are way cheaper compared to institutions in other countries.
Indian education system has very little interference from religious fundamentalists. Compared to resistance that topics like Evolution faces in the US, Indian education system is relatively free and relies only on science for its curriculum. There are occasional incidents of incorporating non-sense in the syllabus (like Veg. people are better than non-Veg people). But, it is mostly fine.

For the most part, history is taught just as it is understood to have happened. Though only North Indian empires and kingdoms are covered in great detail compared to empires in other regions, it does not alter certain portion of the history to fit certain political goals (something that is done in a few other countries).
One other answer mentions that Maths is given importance. I agree with that. This is both good as well as a bad point - many engineers vs Math stealing talented students from other subjects.
