People always ride a panda to go to their companies or schools. Because it is environmental friendly. Pandas just are feed by bamboo rather than gas. It can save a large amount of energy for the earth.
Besides, the most important one is that they are……so cute

No. You can't. Pandas are wild animals. Wild animals should not be kept as pets. Ever.
Why do people keep asking these kinds of questions?
Even if you could, you'd quickly discover that you don't want to. Pandas are assholes. A) their antics are real cute until you're trying to clean their enclosure. B) they're such a pain in the ass that experienced zookeepers in China are hiring panda handlers with no experience because nobody who has any experience wants the job and C) at least part of your life will be spent trying to convince pandas to fuck, which they hate doing.
No, sadly you cannot. I suggest that you get a cassowary as a pet instead.
They are a lovely, friendly bird and will only tear your guts out if you really annoy them. They have an extended front claw for that purpose.

You can not have a giant panda as a pet. All pandas are owned by China, including baby pandas born in captivity. If you own a zoo and have a lot of money you can rent a panda from China to have in your zoo. You can never ever actually own a panda though

Pandas are bears. While they look cute and cuddly, they are still bears. The only reason you see so many in captivity is because they are endangered and conservationists are trying to keep them from extinction. Other than captivity for breeding/conservation, pandas should be left in the wild.

In a wild animal's perspective, respect is largely a matter of size difference. You're going to have a lot easier time establishing a firm chain of command with a small animal who regards you as big enough to kill it if you so desired than something that is big enough to kill you if it so desired. That's generally why animal experts warn people off of trying to raise wild animals that will grow into something easily large enough to hurt or kill its owners in the off chance that its particular personality is not amiable when it becomes an adult. There are probably hundreds of cases of lions, tigers, bears, and elephants turning on and killing or maiming trainers or bystanders, or just some people with which those animals had a prior friendship.
In the case of the panda, from the videos I've seen, they seem more apt to be gentle and passive than the other bears, which is why I'm guessing you ask the question, but humans only have things no bigger than a big dog as pets, for the most part, for good reason. Even big dogs can be a huge liability and dogs have a higher affinity to humans than any other creature in the world. Anyone opting for something wild is rolling dice.

Once I had my Giant Panda, I know I could play with him. When they are being raised in sanctuaries, the trainers don’t want them to become comfortable around humans. so the trainers always dress in Panda suits, and soak themselves in Panda pee. It would be totally worth it to play with a Giant Panda.

Pandas are a critically endangered species, rare and sought after by zoos, and even if you had Bill Gates’ money and you could get the Chinese Government to part with one, and you could get the permit for one, you couldn’t afford it.
Here’s an idea. Get a dog and do Extreme Grooming on it to make it look like a panda.

OK,let's take the questions seriously.
There are four possibilities for you to raise giant pandas
1. Become an employee of relevant giant panda organizations. Among them, in the research base of giant panda breeding and China Research Center of giant panda protection, only the keepers, veterinarians and relevant scientific researchers (and only some of them can reach pandas). The requirements for breeders and veterinarians are animal medicine, animal nutrition, animal genetics, wildlife protection and other related disciplines (Bachelor's degree or above). Generally, relevant researchers need graduate education or above.
The other is the keeper / veterinarian of each zoo. As far as I know, the educational requirements are not very high. Now, most of them need to graduate from zoology.
For volunteer activities, they usually just clean the animal house and prepare food for the panda. (of course, some vvvvvvvvip can be used for close contact with pandas:)
But a recent activity is to let 16-21-year-olds experience the work of panda keepers on March 6.
Then take part in some variety shows that may be involved in raising giant pandas. Of course, it's not sure whether we can cooperate with the giant panda breeding base.
Adopters can take close-up photos with pandas (I don't see the right to adopt, but some do). Adoption is also divided into many levels. There are lifetime (1 million? It's still 500000 yuan) a year (it used to be very expensive, now it seems like 10 thousand yuan). I don't know the specific price list. You can contact me if you are interested. Of course, the official call this "charity donation". Don't get me wrong. In the end, although I like pandas very much, I would not have done it if it was not reasonable. For example, what becomes a vvvvip to hold a baby panda for a photo. There's no shortage of that money. But many of the babies in the group photo are coaxed into obedience by eating bamboo shoots with honey. Will honey be good for them? What's more, frequent exposure to strange breath is good for panda babies only one or two years old? If you really want to get in touch with the giant panda, you can only use the first channel.

Originally Answered: Can I have a panda as a pet in my house ?
I don't think so. Every Panda that is kept in captivity is at a zoo and has to be approved by Chinese government. They are endangered, so I seriously doubt it. Even if it were legal to have own one, they can become very aggressive as they grow older and smarter.
You would also have to have an unlimited supply of fresh bamboo to feed them. Do you have that in your back yard?
Forgetaboutit!
Hate to say it but it is not very possible. But you can imagine that, and to make the dream much more realistic, I will offer you some tips of keeping a panda.
First, you should plant a large bamboo forest. Pandas really eat a lot. Every day, you will see your lovely pet eats 17 kilograms of bamboo poles or 10~14 kilograms of bamboo leaves. If it only eats bamboo shoots, it can eat as much as 40 kilograms.
So, go plant as much bamboos as you can.
Besides what I've mentioned above, you should also prepare a comfortable room with air-conditioning. And a swimming pool with flowing water is necessary. Ice blocks are always welcomed in summer. Do you know your pet is intolerant of hot weather?
And don’t forget to learn panda language. Otherwise how do you comfort your pet when it’s in bad mood?
Even if you can overcome all these difficulties, it is still impossible for you to keep a panda as your pet in real life. Maybe you can apply to be a panda nanny.
No. The possession of pandas is tightly regulated by the Chinese government ,all pandas currently belong to China. They may be loaned to reputable zoos for breeding programs, but they are never permanent -- they return to China when called for.
Without knowing the country you live in, I have no basis on which to answer the headline question 'Can I own a panda?'
However, let me have a stab at the second part - 'would it be wise to?'
No - it would be foolish to own a panda.
Giant Pandas are rubbish. They are a sort of bear that went veggie, picked bamboo (which is wildly un-nutritious) as their foodstuff, have a tendancy to catch all kinds of diseases and are nigh on impossible to breed in captivity.
From your point of view, owning a panda would be a heartbreak.
From the panda's point of view, their chances of a happy and fulfilling panda life are far higher if left in the wild.
By all means, donate to a charity that supports pandas in their native habitat, but don't think that owning one will end well.
It’s a BEAR. It may eat mainly bamboo, but it’s still a bear. Even if you could somehow get a permit, even if you could afford it, you would quickly learn that a panda is not a house pet. It’s a bear.
